The Negotiating Committee is providing this update to the AMFA Membership at Southwest Airlines. This is the only officially authorized source of negotiating communications by your Committee.

The above AMFA and Southwest Airlines Representatives did not participate in formal negotiations, as this meeting was only to set dates for future Section VI negotiations.

Your Negotiating Committee did receive a counter proposal from the Company on Article 5. AMFA presented our counter proposal for Article 5 at our last meeting in June. The Negotiating Committee will respond to this latest proposal at our next meeting.

We agreed on the following future dates to resume negotiations, Wednesday and Thursday October 28th & 29th, Monday and Tuesday November 16th & 17th, Tuesday and Wednesday December 1st & 2nd, all in Dallas. All start times are scheduled for 9:00 am except for Monday November 16th and that start time is 2:00 pm. Future dates to continue discussions will be secured as required.

The Negotiation Committee would like to thank Bob Cramer our observer from Baltimore, His input in caucus was very helpful and welcomed. We know that he will communicate with other members from his local on how the Union is working to protect their jobs and contract language.
