Alternate AMFA-SWA ASAP ERC Representative Election – 2018
Candidate Profiles

In an effort to provide AMFA members with basic information about candidates for union office, AMFA National has offered all candidates in this election an opportunity to submit a Candidate Profile along with their picture. Profiles were limited to 400 words and are unedited except for inappropriate content. AMFA National neither endorses any candidate for union office nor was any candidate given special treatment.

Larry Dildine

Hi I am Larry Dildine. First I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this and allowing me to represent you. I recently stepped down from the full time position as your AMFA Primary ASAP Representative due to personal issues that required my full attention. I felt it was unfair to the membership to not be able to give this program my undivided attention. These issues have since been cleared up.  When I took over there was an adversarial feel to the program.  Our program relies on working together and trust between the ERC members.  While serving in the role as primary I instituted changes in the way we communicate with AMFA National and the membership.  Prior to my time there was little to no communication to the members.  We now send a text when we receive your report, and update you after meetings, so you always know the status of your report. During my term I started to publish a monthly update to the National for distribution to all locals.  This is intended to keep everyone up to date with issues the program notices a rise in. I was involved with the implementation and updating of our new MOU to bring us up to FAA and industry standards.  With the assistance of Scot King the National S&S Director we took steps to educate ourselves concerning the new Just Culture process to make 100% sure it was in the membership’s best interest to use. I participated in many station visits to have group discussions, and traveled for personal one on one meetings.  I have gone to battle all the way to the VP of maintenance to keep discipline out of our program. I will fight to maintain the level playing field and ensure decisions over your report are solely based on the facts involved in your event, and personalities and personal feelings are removed.  If you feel that I have done a job worthy of extending my time representing you the membership, I would appreciate your trust and vote.
