Referendum Notice
Mesaba Airlines
Tentative Agreement and Strike Authorization

The AMFA–Mesaba Airlines Contract Negotiation Committee has requested a system-wide secret ballot referendum regarding the following matters:

  • The first vote is regarding the Tentative Agreement (TA). Copies of the full text of the TA will be available on the AMFA National Web site at www.amfanatl.org under the heading “Elections and Referenda” or through your Local.
  • On March 11, 2005, the Mesaba membership approved authorization for the Association to call for a strike against Mesaba Airlines. Given the reduction in membership and the amount of time that has elapsed since the last strike vote, the Association feels compelled to ask the membership to vote again on the issue of calling for a strike against Mesaba Airlines. Therefore the second vote, should the TA be rejected, is an authorization for the Association to call for a strike against Mesaba Airlines.

In accordance with Article XV, Section 7 of the Constitution, AMFA National is conducting a referendum for the membership at Mesaba Airlines.

The vote for this referendum will be conducted by mail. All active members in good standing employed at Mesaba Airlines are eligible to vote in this referendum. Ballots will be mailed by November 3, 2006, to eligible voters at the address on record with AMFA National.

Any eligible member who has not received a ballot package by November 10, 2006, or any member who spoils a ballot, may request a new ballot by contacting the AMFA Election Coordinator at 603-527-9212. If you request another ballot, only the replacement ballot will be counted.

Mail your ballot in the pre-addressed stamped envelope in sufficient time for it to be received at PO Box 530, Laconia NH 03247 by 10:00 AM ET on November 24, 2006. The results will be announced in accordance with AMFA National policy.
