AMFA National Officer Interim Region III Director The AMFA National Executive Council has begun the process to fill the national officer position of AMFA Region III Director, which recently became vacant. This vacancy will be filled in accordance with Article VII, Section 1 of the 2004 AMFA Constitution by conducting a special election. The term of office will commence on the first day of the month following the certification of the election and will expire at 11:59 PM ET on October 6, 2008. The duties for this position may be found in Article VI Section 10 of the AMFA Constitution. At this time it is anticipated that this position will serve on a part-time, as needed basis. Candidates for this position must be members in good standing, Active or Active Associate Member, and free of all assessments and fines to the National and Local, per Article VII, Section 1 of the AMFA Constitution. Each Local in Region III may submit the name of one Active or Active Associate Member in good standing as a nominee for AMFA Region III Director in accordance with Article VII, Section 2 of the AMFA Constitution. The deadline for Locals to submit the name of their nominee to AMFA National is March 16, 2007. AMFA National will begin the process of conducting an election for this position as soon as all Locals have submitted the name of their nominee or indicated that they do not have a name to submit.
