August 3, 2005 Dear AMFA Alaska Airlines Membership: The AMFA-ASA Negotiation Committee would like to gain a more in-depth understanding of why the AMFA ASA Tentative Agreement (TA) was voted down. Therefore, we have established an email link on the AMFA National Web site to provide the membership an opportunity to communicate their specific concerns with the TA to the Negotiation Committee. We also request that members include with the message their contact information and arctic number so that the Negotiation Committee can verify AMFA membership and if necessary follow up with any clarification. To participate in this survey, browse to the AMFA National Web site at www.amfanatl.org under the heading Elections and Referenda and click the AMFA ASA TA Poll link or send an email to asanegotiating@amfanatl.org. The survey email address will be open from Thurday August 4th through Friday August 19th. The specific questions that need to be addressed in the survey include: 1. What components of the tentative agreement do you believe caused it to be voted down? 2. What components of the tentative agreement were positive? 3. Are there any additional comments that you would like to share with the Negotiation Committee? Once all the survey responses have been received, the Negotiation Committee will reconvene to evaluate the open issues. We will then contact Alaska Airlines to establish negotiation dates and resume the process. The Negotiation Committee would like to thank everyone for their participation in this democratic process. We appreciate your continued support and professionalism throughout the entire negotiation process. We are here to represent you. To participate in this survey, please click here.
