In the transportation industry, each class or craft that is represented for collective bargaining must go through a certification process administered by the National Mediation Board (NMB). By organizing authorization card collection campaigns, grassroots organizations led by AMFA supporters are actively seeking to call elections to be recognized as the collective bargaining agent at other airlines.

AMFA has no paid organizers. AMFA has won certification elections for mechanics and related classifications at several airlines and currently represents them in contract negotiations, grievances, and other cooperative programs.

AMFA has won certification elections for mechanics and related classifications primarily through grassroots campaigns started and run by volunteer organizers from within the airline.

Associate membership is also available to airline/aircraft mechanics and related personnel actively involved in the avaition industry as defined by the National Mediation Board. If you would like to become an Associate Member of AMFA, please print this application and return it to the AMFA Administration office as indicated on the form.
